February 2, 2024
On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Disability Rights Awareness Day will be held at the NM State Capitol. In the Rotunda, there will be speakers, videos, and information regarding legislation, policy, and issues that impact the lives of New Mexicans with disabilities. The event will take place in the Rotunda from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This is always and exciting and informative event during the Legislative Session. This is a great opportunity to let your representatives know how you feel about current and pending legislation!
As part of the days' festivities, the NM Office of Guardianship will also be holding an educational forum on Supported Decision-Making and Alternatives to Guardianship, in Room 321 of the State Capitol. Hear about what alternatives to guardianship are available, and why it is so important for every individual to have the opportunity to make their own decisions about their lives to the greatest extent possible.
We hope to see you Tuesday at the State Capitol!
